Borrow Seeds, Grow Community

The Valley Mountains Seed Library is a free seed-sharing program housed in the library lobby. Take seeds to plant in your garden, then save seeds from your harvest to return for the next growing season.

How It Works

  • Browse our seed catalog in the library lobby
  • Check out up to 5 seed packets per visit
  • Plant, grow, and enjoy!
  • If you can, save seeds from your healthiest plants and return them to the library in fall

Available Seeds

Our collection includes vegetables (tomatoes, peppers, beans, squash), herbs (basil, cilantro, dill, parsley), and flowers (sunflowers, zinnias, marigolds, wildflower mixes). Many varieties are well-suited to our Sullivan County climate.

Seed Donations

We welcome donations of saved seeds from open-pollinated varieties. Please label with the plant name, variety, and date harvested.
