Meet Our New Children's Librarian

Welcome, Maria!

We are excited to introduce Maria Rodriguez as Valley Mountains Library's new Children's Librarian. Maria joins us from the Brooklyn Public Library system, where she spent five years developing bilingual story time programs and STEAM workshops for kids.

About Maria

Maria holds an MLS from Pratt Institute and a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. She is passionate about early literacy, diverse representation in children's books, and making the library a welcoming space for every family in our community.

What's Coming

Maria is already planning some exciting additions to our children's programming, including a bilingual story time, a summer nature reading series, and a revamped Toddler Story Time with more music and movement.
